AJINKYA RAHANE & RAHUL DRAVID; "LIKE TEACHER, LIKE STUDENT"

This is an article about Dravid, which came in newspaper 4years ago, during his retirement from ODI's."A man less committed to the cause of the nation would have hesitated to answer such a mindless call to arms", writes Nirmal Shekar in this article.   The man who served India for 15 years(at that time,i.e.2011), ready to do anything for India,should have been treated in a better way,that's what article was about. Yes, Dravid's career seems to be a "never ending sacrifice" for true cricket fans,especially for Indians.  OPENER IS INJURED,WILL YOU OPEN, "YES"!
INDIA NEEDS TO PLAY AN EXTRA BOWLER, WILL YOU PLS KEEP THE WICKETS ,"YES"... Like that somany "YES", Just for the nation,that was Dravid! 



I know everyone will think, what is the purpose to say all these now, 4 years later.  If  Indians failed to under stand  Dravid there,from now it  shouldn't happen. "AS LIKE TEACHER,AS STUDENT", Now its Rahane who is ready to do anything for the team. We have to notice it.




Scoring a 100 in his first class debut as an opener, currently he is in the team not as an option of  opener. Being equally talented too, he was ready to bat at no.4 w, while Rohit and Dhawan did the opening.  Indeed having a good IPL and domestic season,Rahane who had 1208 runs from 37 innings at an average of 35+ sacrificed his spot.



Eventhough he had a run, which we can call "not bad" at no.4, he was  little bit slow,comparing to other batsmen. It caused little bit for India in th world cup semi final and in the bangladesh series, and while Dhoni needs to shift his batting order to regain his touch, he came before Rahane in the second Odi vs Bangaldesh. Since Dhoni performed well at no.4 in the two games, and India had a decent pace in the runrate, the team management has to stick on that decision, which raised a question about the position of Rahane. Since he is not a big hitter he couldn't take Dhoni's batting position as the finisher. So it was clear that if India needs to perform, if Dhoni is a X-factor at no.4, Rahane should be dropped.That was the situation! And finally well talented Rahane who was a decent opener, sacrificing his batting order to the no.4 was dropped from the side. His sacrifice made him a "water-boy" there.


Then came the Zimbabwe tour, when all other senior players like Dhoni,Dhawan,Rohit,Kohli and all rested, Rahane was appointed as the captain. May be to test his captaincy skill,but selectors have to understand one thing  before giving him an extra burden,like all former ones listed  above Rahane too palyed the entire Australian series,World Cup,IPL,Bangla tour... Eventhough India whitewashed Zimbabwe in onedayers ,Rahane has to take lot of blame for losing the final T20, levelling the series 1-1. 

As we all know since Pujara needs time to regain his form & Rohit failed many times a no.3 , there were many questions infront of Kohli and team management. What should be the batting order? who should come at no.3. Rumours were there that Virat who had a great record in no.3 in one dayers may come up the order in the tests. But team management were not ready to shift his permanent batting order. But here Rahane who have scored 804 runs at an average of  40.24 while batting at no.5 , were ready to come up the order. In his short test career of 32 innings Rahane batted for India at no.3,5,6,7... what happened in this test? Rahane failed in the first test and experts like Gavaskar criticised that move.

In return what Rahane gets after sacrificing all these things? many bullshit comments and criticisations from the fans. Is the 'socia media' making him an another "Dravid" in all aspects?
Since India Lacks a wicket keeper batsman, and in order to play an extra bowler or all rounder , if captain demands, Rahane may ready to keep wickets indeed like dravid. He is such a personality!
