Indian Revolution 2007; " It All started from here,@durban"!

September 14;

A CRACKER OF A MATCH!

This was the title given by Sports Star ,at that time! yes!  It was a cracker in all sense.....

The eventuality of a bowl-out was something that the Indian team had prepared for. “We practiced it at the nets. The three bowlers who were picked first were the ones with the best score in the nets”... These Statements are given by none other than Indian Captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni. These words were said just after his first match as the captain of Indian Cricket Team, and rest was history, a revolution in Indian Cricket In all sense..

The match against Rivals, brutual Pakistanis were always tough, that too in a world cup. Both teams were looking for a new beginning, after the dissappointing perfomance in the 50 over world cup earlier. On that day both Dhoni and Malik wouldn't even think about facing each other one more time in the final. All the eyes were at Durban.Young India for the first time under a new captain, ticket collector boy from Jharkhand started his rule from there!

The match was the perfect advertisement for the game’s shortest version. There were sudden momentum shifts, good seam and spin bowling, clean hitting and a thrilling climax.
It would have been better off if the match had ended in a deadlock, instead of subjecting the players to the sort of frivolity that unfolded in the name of a bowl-out.
There was excitement all round, but the satisfaction of a win was missing. As is the case in football shoot-outs, bowl-outs should be used only out of compulsion.

India batting first ,struggled initially before Mohd.Asif, losing Gambhir for 0 , Sehwag for 5
,Yuvi for 1 & Karthik for 11. But the Partnership between Dhoni & Uthappa, late hitting from Pathan helped India to reach 141 for 9 wkts in 20 overs. Uthappa was calm and clinical in his hitting, and was the architect of India’s decent score after the batsmen were pegged back by Asif. Dhoni was slow to start but played the supporting role well, showing just flashes of the unorthodox hitting that has come to define him.Uthappa made 50 & Dhoni made usefu 33. Asif was the star performer in the first innings, giving only 18 runs and took crucial 4 wickets.

In reply Paksitan lost  their first wkt for 12 runs,& they were 44 for 2 once . But suddenly lost the momentum ,at one stage they were 47 for 4. From then Misbah Started his magnificient run in his career, from that match he started taking responsibilities in his shoulder. He made a 40 run partnership for 5th wkt, 18 runs partnership for 6th. Pakistan were 103 for 6. Misbah along with Arafat were not ready to give up, attacked Indian Bowlers especially Agarkar& Misbah helped them to tie the score before the last two balls. Sreesanth was the bowler and required 1 from 2 balls, which was comparatively easy task for a recognised batsman. Unfortunately he missed the first ball,& the clever fielding set by the Captain Cool for Sreesanth were hard to brak for Misbah. Clever Bowling as well as the captaincy denied the the winning run and Misbah was run out!

MATCH TIED! ITS TIME FOR THE FIRST SUPER OVER IN T20 WORLDCUP.

SEHWAG,BHAJJI,SUPRISINGLY UTHAPPA HIT STUMPS, WHILE PACE OF UMAR GUL,ARAFAT &TURN OF AFRIDI DIDN'T PAID FOR PAKISTANIS.

INDIA WON THE SUPEROVER BY 3-0!

Pakistan captain Malik was curiously unaware that a bowl-out would be used in the match, after the tie. “When the match ended in a tie, only then we came to know that a bowl-out would happen,” he said. “I just told my bowlers not to take pressure and try and hit the wickets but they were not successful,” he added.

“I won’t want to see a cricket match decided on a bowl-out. Teams play really hard to get a result and it should always be decided on the field, whether it’s a win or a loss,” said Dhoni
The eventuality of a bowl-out was something that India had prepared for. “We practiced it at the nets. The three bowlers who were picked first were the ones with the best score in the nets” Dhoni added!

In this thriller of a match, Mohammed Asif bowled really well, probably the best seam bowling seen thus far in the tournament. Robin Uthappa showed that a clear head was not out of place in a Twenty20 match and Misbah-ul-Haq played with power and improvisation.
Asif was, rightly so, not too disappointed with the result. “It’s not like we lost the match. The match was a tie. We just lost the bowl-out,” he said. Shoaib Malik, the skipper, echoed his views. “None of my players can be blamed for what happened. We played well and the match was a tie,” he said.
There were a lot of bowling positives for India from the match. Irfan Pathan and Harbhajan Singh’s comebacks worked out to their benefits. Pathan’s angles were a delight to watch and he dismissed Younis Khan with one that cut in perfectly.

8 years gone! It still  remains  as cracker for every Fan who loves cricket! On that day "MSD THE LEADER" WAS BORN!

THE REVOLUTION BEGINS FROM HERE.....!!!!!!!!!!!
